Who We Are

Greater Things Roasters is a micro batch specialty coffee roastery and café based in Coxsackie, New York. We believe in providing our community and beyond with the highest-quality, freshest coffee possible in a responsible and ethically-sourced way.

Our Story

Our story began in 2012 when our founders, Wayne and Kerri, were gifted their very first espresso machine. They quickly discovered a passion for the aromatics, crema, and delectable flavor that can only be achieved from freshly roasted beans. That passion quickly brought them into the world of home roasting with their first counter-top roaster.

In August of 2019, they decided to take their roasting to the next level by completing a coffee roasting certification program where they worked directly under the tutelage of Mané Alves, a renowned coffee expert and founder of Vermont Artisan Coffee.

By 2020, they were finally ready to open their first retail café in West Coxsackie where they successfully grew a quiet corner shop into a local sensation.

Having completed the mission of introducing their community to speciality coffee, our founders decided to step back and focus on their family, selling GTR to local entrepreneur, Brittany Coons of BonTon Holdings.

Taking the reigns, Brittany quickly recruited a another alum of the Vermont Artisan Coffee school and fellow Greene County local with a decade of professional roasting experience.

Today, Brittany continues the original mission of Greater Things Roasters by bringing locally-roasted, fresh, ethically-sourced coffee to the Hudson Valley, Capital Region, and beyond.
